Issued: 6:48 AM Apr. 8, 2026 – National Weather Service
...INCREASED FIRE DANGER ACROSS NORTHEAST GEORGIA FROM NOON EDT TODAY THROUGH THIS EVENING... A dry air mass will move into the region today with the relative humidity dropping to around 25 percent for several hours this afternoon across northeast Georgia. The low humidity combined with occasional wind gusts of 20 to 25 mph will make outdoor burning dangerous this afternoon. Please refer to your local burn permitting authorities on whether you can burn today. If you do burn, use extreme caution since fires can quickly get out of hand under these conditions.
